In Hong Kong, bedroom space is generally extremely limited. Many households, when purchasing or customising wardrobes, often focus solely on maximising internal storage capacity, or simply choose between hinged doors and sliding doors based on aesthetic preference. However, many only discover after moving in that opening the wardrobe doors completely blocks the walkway, or that the bed frame prevents the doors from opening fully.
In fact, if a wardrobe's design doesn't match the spatial proportions and daily flow, no matter how much storage capacity it has, it will simply become difficult to use. Understanding the physical characteristics of hinged and sliding doors is key to successful bedroom space planning.
